I always feel better after a meal like this. Everything about me is stronger. My mind most certainly reaps the benefits. After cooking a meal like this I feel a small sense of accomplishment because I know how much my body appreciates all the nutrients I just put in it. I also enjoy cooking, it almost feels like a meditative state. Then of course there is the creation and the art work involved with making something from nothing. Our bodies perform at our absolute peak when they are energized with good foods.
I wouldn’t begin to try to convert someone that has no desire to eat healthier. Most people that come to me at least try if not succeed eventually. But those who enjoy the drive through or cheap low nutrient food, that’s there cup of tea. But once you realize and actually feel how much better you feel and how much better you mind and body functions after a meal like this, I wouldn’t understand someone going back.
The biggest complaint I get when I talk about cooking for yourself is time. I have no time I hear, which basically means, I’m not interested in making time for my health. This meal literally took 10 mins to make, another 20 mins to cook and that’s it. Preparing the food consisted of me reaching in the fridge, washing the food, cutting the food and throwing them in a pan. That’s it.
If this seems like a lot of work to you, find a few ingredients of veggies you like and chop them up. That’s all there is to it, throw them in a pan and you’re good to go. I’d recommend quinoa like in this pic but if you have another idea for a base like brown rice, by all means.
The hardest part is starting. Every journey starts out with a single step. The only question is, will you take the first step in the journey towards your health?
