Stick to your current Fitness Routine

It’s important to stick to your fitness routines especially at this time of year. Holiday weight accumulates year after year and we tend to never burn it off.

So it’s important to understand the weight you gain now stays on all year long. We also have to understand that Christmas time could last a few months, if we allow it.

So you’re creating unhealthy habits just because it’s the holidays for an extended period of time and we don’t even realize it. We plan on being in holiday mode for a few weeks which turns into a few months and have a very hard time getting out of routines we’ve been developing.


This may go without saying but it’s super important to get enough sleep during the holidays. It’s even more challenging with the late nights, the drinks, the wrapping presents and watching Christmas movies.

But it’s worth considering that keeping our proper sleeping routines, sticking to those habits, getting to be at the same time every night, will help improve our sleep habits, and reduce stress over the holiday season.


Many of us don’t realize that not staying on track with nutrition during the holidays is more detrimental than we know.

Consider your digestion and how long it takes to get your body back on track.

But that doesn’t mean you can’t have a good time, all we’re saying is, pay attention to what you’re putting in your body. All your choices add up, all the gathers, or appetizers or drinks.

Did you know we gain most of our weight during the holiday season, and it doesn’t burn off. Which means year after year we accumulate weight and never burn it off.

Something to think about before your next holiday meal.

Skip Alcohol

I know a lot of people don’t want to hear this, but skipping alcohol during the holidays is a great idea if you want to stay on track during the holidays.

You can consider having a non alcoholic beverage, or skipping the add rum in your eggnog.

Leaving the party or gathering early – if you are somewhere that you know, only brings more drinks at the end of the night is also a good idea.

And lastly knowing that you don’t have to drink alcohol just because else is, is something to think about. You can still enjoy yourself and avoid the alcohol all together or at least avoid a hangover the next day.
