Finding Motivation to Workout

Look what I found!!! A way to progress from a ring handstand with my arms already straight. It’s the pushing up that’s the real challenge.

*it’s important to find ways to slowly progress no matter what it is that you’re doing.

At any rate I wanted to share this with you which may come as a shock. The truth is, I don’t know if I love to workout. Yes seriously. Someone asked me not too long ago if I liked to workout and once I thought about it, my answer was no. At least not the conventional way.

However I do enjoy the results of working out. I enjoy being strong and healthy. I enjoy looking fit when I see myself in the mirror. I enjoy feeling fit – which is different for everyone.

I like to create content, so being able to workout, making me fit and sharing content with others, gives me the chance to …. 2 birds with one stone.

I also like challenging myself, trying new things and learning new skills.

Why am I sharing this with you? Because this is what motivates me, which is different for everyone. For these reasons I find different ways to workout everyday.

It could be skateboarding or surfing – note, these are both skills. It could be riding a bike, which I wouldn’t exactly call a skill but I enjoy being outside and that gives the ability to do both.

My point here is that you need to find what motivates you and focus on that. Is it fitting in your clothes better, is it enjoying seeing what looks back at you in the mirror? Is it being able to chase your children or grandchildren around?

Whatever it is, find it, focus on it and remember it especially on the days you don’t feel like working out.
