Improving our customer service with phone calls

Customer service, at least from what I understand, is something that we specialize in. Sure there are other aspects, I pride myself in being open and honest, offer only the best quality etc. But if there’s one thing that helps us stand out from the others, it’s customer service. 

When I played baseball traveling the world as a professional athlete, I knew speed would get me to where I wanted to go. Speed meaning I was usually the fastest guy on the field and often in the league. But knowing when to use that speed was also significant for myself and the team I was playing on. 

When training came, instead of spending more time on throwing for example, much of my efforts went to increasing my speed as I understood that was the only thing that would separate me from making different teams and moving up in the ranks, and reaching higher levels. 

Fast forward to business, I understand we need something that will help us stand out with our products and services. I understand we need to lean on what people enjoy which means I’m always thinking about how we can improve in different areas, more specially our customer service.

So I’ve decided that I’m going to call every single person that puts in an order for our products each month. I’ll commit to doing this for 6 months and see how it goes. 

Let me be very clear, this is not a sales call. I’m not trying to sell you anything. We want to improve your experience and not cause stress or discomfort. We don’t want you thinking, ‘oh great, I put in an order, now he’s going to call me and try to sell me more stuff’.

I simply want to offer more service, more care, and more understanding of our products. 

You can choose to take my call or not of course. If you do take my call or call me back if you aren’t around we’re offering a 200g bag of bath flakes added to your next order for no extra cost.

Why are we doing this? Because we want to show you that we really aren’t trying to upsell anything, that we really do care, and we want to help solve any issues you may have with our products or services. And what better way to do that, than on a quick phone call.

My phone number is 323-799-6562. Given that it’s an LA area code, most people don’t answer it. So I’ll be calling from Dorothy’s phone which is 506-688-3802. The challenge there is that her number is from NB and many people don’t answer that phone either. But we only have two phones so I’ll have to go with hers :).

You’re welcome to save these numbers in your phones so when we call, you know who it is. Or save our numbers in case you need to call or text us any questions in the future.
