As the school year is creeping in on us I have been feelin’ all the feels.
I’ve been stuck on a tilt-a- whirl of emotions and can’t get off. I’ve
been playing a game of tug-o-war all summer that just won’t stop!!!!
All the unknowns are TERRIFYING!!!!
Last night after a very unattractive ugly cry that lasted way too long,
I realized that I was choosing to stay on the tilt-a-whirl. It was
easier to stay in the downward spiral then it was to fight my way to the
top.
I had a decision to make. Stay on the tilt-a-whirl or push the emergency stop button and exit. No one was going to do it for me. I had to do it for myself!!
This morning when I woke I found myself in a new head space searching for all the positive things to look forward to with a new school year. Will it be the same. Not a chance. But if we can look past all the things we don’t like or perhaps the things we don’t agree with we’ll find that the beauty still remains.
I am so grateful for the opportunity to experience some pretty BIG moments in the lives of my students.
As a teacher….
💙There is no greater joy than experiencing a child’s excitement when they read for the first time.
💙There is nothing more exciting then when your student solves a problem they’ve been tirelessly working on.
💙There is nothing that warms my heart more than when a child says “Mme Keith you’re the best! Thanks for being my teacher.”
💙There is nothing that lights me up more than laughing and having fun learning with my students.
Even in the crappy circumstances, these beautiful moments will remain. NOTHING can stop them from happening.
So let today be the start of something new.
⭐️Let’s spread excitement instead of fear.
⭐️Let’s SMILE instead of frown.
⭐️Let’s be grateful for what we have.
⭐️Let’s find the joy in the moments.
⭐️Let’s be happy.
⭐️Let’s lift each other up instead of tear each other down.
⭐️Let’s find solutions instead of excuses.
Let’s lean on those who build us up, who spread positivity and shine
light and be brave enough to let go of those who drag us down.
This is how we do!!
