Self Care During the Holidays

Self care during the holidays is so important. In fact it could be the most important time of the year.

We have appetizers, and family and finances, all in which could stress us out. So we have to continue to take care of ourselves especially at the most stressful time of year.

Believe that you’re worth it

Believe that you’re worth it because you are. You deserve to be strong and healthy all year long, especially at this time of year!

Make a plan

If you fail to plan you plan to fail. Have a workout plan, have a nutrition plan, take all the thinking out of it. Make sure you have a plan that you can stick to and find a professional to do it for you if you’re not sure how.

Prioritize your time

Remember that you deserve this. So make yourself a priority. We make everyone else in our lives a priority and we put ourselves last. Put yourself at the top of the list and you’ll have more to give.

Allow yourself to say no

Allow yourself to say no, understand that it’s okay to say no.

You don’t have to feel guilty for saying no. See what happens is, when you say yes to something you don’t want to do, you’re saying no to something you’re rather do. Especially when it comes to yourself.

Meaning your own self care. We say yes to people all day but when it comes to nutrition or workouts or meal planning, we’re saying no because we filled our day with saying yes to everyone else but ourselves.

Do yourself a favour, learn to say no, at least some of the time and you’ll be much better off!

Make time for yourself

We all have the same hours in the day, it’s not that we don’t have time, it’s more so that we don’t make the time it takes to get our workouts in, or to meal plan and prep.

Make that time because you deserve it!

Start the Day With Gratitude

Starting the day off with gratitude is a great way to start any day. One of my favourite exercises is to start naming the things that you’re grateful for as soon as your feet hit the floor.

You’ll soon realize it doesn’t take long before you start to think of things that you’re grateful for before you feet even hit floor.

Why is this important? Because being grateful puts our mind in a different place. A place of appreciation, instead of a place of lack, a place of negativity and focused on all the things we don’t have.

Put yourself in a better mood, live your life in gratitude and watch the abundance flow in.
