There’s something nostalgic about a peanut butter and jam sandwich.

These Simple Peanut Butter & Jam Cookies take those same classic flavors and turn them into a soft, chewy cookie that’s incredibly easy to make.

No complicated ingredients. No fancy baking skills required.

Just simple pantry staples, a bowl, and a few minutes of prep.

Perfect for an afternoon snack, a lunchbox treat, or when you’re craving something sweet without spending hours in the kitchen.

5 Ingredients — That’s It!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour of choice – I prefer almond flour
  • 1 cup natural peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Jam Filling

  • 1/4 cup natural jam or preserves (raspberry, strawberry, blueberry, or your favorite)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, peanut butter, maple syrup, applesauce, and vanilla until a dough forms.
  4. Roll into 1-inch balls and place on the baking sheet.
  5. Using your thumb or the back of a spoon, create a small well in the center of each cookie.
  6. Fill each indentation with about 1 teaspoon of jam.
  7. Bake for 10–12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  8. Allow cookies to cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Why You’ll Love These Cookies

Simple Ingredients

Everything in this recipe can be found in most kitchens, making it a great last-minute baking option.

Naturally Sweetened

Maple syrup and fruit jam provide plenty of sweetness without needing refined sugar.

Family Friendly

Kids love them. Adults love them. And they disappear quickly from the cookie jar.

Easy to Customize

Try different jam flavors, swap peanut butter for almond butter, or use whole wheat, oat, or gluten-free flour.

Pro Tip

For a richer flavor and softer texture, use a thick natural peanut butter and let the cookies cool completely before storing. The jam center will set beautifully and become even more delicious the next day.
