I love getting out there a visiting these (mostly) beautiful ladies that work so hard for our honey!
Did you know there are 3 kinds of honey bees? The queen who’s only job is to lay eggs.
The drone (which is male) who’s main job is to fertilize the queens eggs. The drones are super important but far less significant than the female worker bee.
Drones can’t even feed themselves and don’t have a stinger to help protect the hive.
The worker bee lives up to their name in true spirit. They make the wax and the honey, they have stingers to protect the hive and they are much more in numbers that fill a hive.
The bee ecosystem is amazingly complex but seemingly quickly dying off. Rapid change is temperatures, spraying chemicals near them and many more factors endanger their species every single year.
Don’t fear bees, love them, appreciate them, they do far more for us than we know
