Fascination is something that all captures us. It could be beautiful lyrics or sounds, it could be scenery like a bright full moon or a flowing waterfall. My fascinations comes from something unlike any listed above. My fascination comes from PEOPLE.
The other day while having lunch I was sitting next to a couple that was trying to enjoy a corn dog. They were very upset by the quality of this….yes that’s right, corn dog. I sat there in amazement. I couldn’t believe what they thought they should have had. Let’s be real here, they didn’t exactly order a shrimp ring at a 5 star. I wonder if these same people would have been surprised and upset if they jumped in the shower and got wet?
I wanted to break down the chain of events that happened here to see what kind of result we’d see from the same kind of person or if we could find out any type of pattern in the actions.
Let’s say we order a cheap meal both in price and quality. I think it’s fair to say, this particular meal or food is high in calories, low in cost and low in quality. With the low quality and less than price we figure we’re getting a deal, which will cost us much more than the price of the corn dog. Bad calories in fat could cost us extra weight we don’t need or want, the low quality food could affect our emotions in more ways than one. Expectation or having a cheap meal actually taste good along with not feeling so well after consuming a meal with no nutritional value is a double knock on the emotional side. And after all that, what are we left with…..A STICK. I suppose there is an upside. It’s not plastic, so this time we only pollute our bodies.
Why we do the things we do will always fascinate me.
