There’s all kinds of phrases that can go along with what I’d like to write/talk about it. Go hard or go home, work hard play harder, jump in with two feet. One of my favourite ones is live free.
Not that long ago I indulged in a giant double patty burger on white bread no less, with onions, mustard and ketchup. I’d say my mouth is watering as a speak but that isn’t the case. Although this is a lot people’s favourite meal, or a cheat meal or something they’d find delicious, I don’t.
I requested this picture to be snapped because I feel many people think I don’t ‘cheat’ so to speak. Many people think when you start to eat healthy and you really want the results you’re after there’s no turning back. You’ll no longer be able to really live or enjoy life. Unfortunately, I believe the exact opposite.
I don’t eat foods like this anymore because I don’t enjoy them. I don’t enjoy the taste anymore, I certainly don’t enjoy how I feel after I eat them and I don’t enjoy what it does to my body. But the main purpose I’m talking about this is because, now brace yourself… IT’S OKAY. A meal like this once is awhile is just fine. If that’s what you want, if you really enjoy this meal or another like it, then EAT IT.
Why would we continually deprive ourselves of foods we really enjoy. I mean there will or should come a time when we realize these cheat foods aren’t good for us, they don’t treat our bodies well, and we can get a whole lot more benefits from better foods, but if you want something like this once a while then indulge.
You know what the worst part of having is meal like this is the guilt, it’s the emotional stress we put on our bodies because we don’t approve of our decision. After the decision we beat ourselves up over and over again which is far more damage than any meal could be.
I thought about eating this giant double patty stacked burger once, there was a seemingly healthier option, I thought about it twice; then I ordered not one but two patty’s and enjoyed every single bite of that giant burger. I didn’t regret my decision, I felt no guilt, and I’d do it all over again.
Would I eat a meal like this on a regular basis, of course not. Real, whole, natural foods give more benefits than I could ever imagine; how could I possibly go back, why would I do that to my mind and body, the answer is simple, I won’t, not ever. I truly believe that if each and every of us felt and understood how natural foods can contribute to our overall well being, we wouldn’t think twice about a microwave dinner (price or not), a drive through window or a chocolate bar on a regular basis.
