I love fresh markets. They have street markets all over Rome depending on the place, day and time. This one was a food market. They had meat and cheese, more spices than I’ve ever seen or smelled, and the same with dried fruit.
They welcomed visitors with ‘you try’ and seemed to be very friendly even after the sale. It was a very hot day so the ‘dry fruit guy’ was spraying his neighbor with water, which was pretty entertaining.
The cup of fruit was 3.50 Euros which was pricey but much healthier than the 4.00 Euro slice of pizza sold on every corner. Walking away with a bag full of fresh fruit was very satisfying and priced reasonably.
