I have 2 good friends from college that I stay in contact with on a regular basis. I think they’d both agree they are overweight, and not generally the healthiest around. But they don’t claim to be and don’t exactly work towards a healthy lifestyle.
If you talk to both of them, they’ll both say they are picky eaters. However they’ll eat just about any type of fast food, with almost any toppings.
So if I were to really dig deep I’d say they are only picky eaters when it comes to healthy food.
And that’s the thing. I hear from people about our MAP program and once in a while they tell me they are a picky eater. And that’s fine however I want to be clear about this.
If you eat many different unhealthy foods, but you’re ‘picky’ when it comes to healthy foods, I’d say most people would prefer to be ‘picky’ when it comes to eating a cucumber salad.
The biggest issue here is you narrow your scope of success. If you aren’t willing to try new foods, or simply different foods that you aren’t used to because you’ve labeled yourself picky from the get go, you limit your overall success in any program.
That’s like saying during a workout I’ll only work out my biceps but I fully expect results in my glutes.
Open your mind, be willing to try new things, and watch new results come flowing in!
