I recently posted and sent out my latest ‘7 Secrets’ with the title of failure.  I wanted to bring up a couple points about failure in life.  As far back as I can remember failure was negative.  For some reason the memories I remember from school is when I got in trouble more so then when I succeeded.  I remember teachers scolding students because they got the answer wrong instead of praising them for putting in a good effort.  It’s hard for me to comprehend what was going through their minds when a grown adult gave a child trouble for not getting the right answer.  Another memory that stands out is when a teacher gave a student trouble for asking a stupid question.  My second grade teacher would actually grabbed our arms and shook us if she didn’t like what we did.

I like to know what is going through people minds at the moment of failure in the gym.  With these examples above it’s no wonder why most people feel very negative about failure.

Have you even gone through a difficult situation in your life and look back and think how that situation has made you a stronger person?  Have you ever been in a relationship that didn’t ended very well in which you may have been devastated at the time?  Thinking back the relationship ending could have been the best thing that happened to you.  Just recently I got lost being in a new area and when I found out where I was I realized I actually found a quicker way to get to where I was going.

Failure is all about perception, it’s how you understand it.  It will be a negative thing if you let it but most of the time there is a life lesson that we can learn from.

Lastly, when you are working out remember it’s the last reps or the last few minutes before failure that makes all the difference.

I hope you are able to accept failure as a positive even when things don’t seem to be.
