It seems like every day you hear of another person that lost their job, was laid off or didn’t have many hours. And it’s sad, it really is. My heart goes out to them. I know what it’s like to not know where the next paycheque will come from. I know what it’s like to check the mail hoping that the payment you’re waiting for arrives. And I know what it’s like to wonder how you’re going to pay your bills.
What I don’t know is what it’s like to have to support a family, a home, to have children depend on you. I couldn’t imagine the stress and pressure these individuals are going through. And I believe it’s going to get worse before it gets better.

More than ever we need to understand what supporting local means. We need to support our neighbours (in many cases literally) the mom and pop shops that have been around for years, the family friend that’s just been laid off, your own family member that needs work.
Whatever it is, or however we choose, it’s time to spend our money right here where we live to support those that we love, that we care about and spend time with. I don’t know if it’s now, but I believe at some point we’ll all be forced to really understand what it’s like to need the support of our neighbours.
To those that are struggling, don’t give up, it’s time to push forward, greatness comes from adversary, during the most difficult times. It’s not a time for pride or stubbornness, it’s a time to get things done however that may be.
As difficult as it may be, forget about the pay cut, forget about what you went to school for and even what you feel you deserve.
Sometimes we have to find other forms of work, we need to evolve, take a step back, do what needs to be done to survive because there’s more people than we know in survival mode right now.
Understand that it’s okay to ask for help, we all need it at times. Maybe it’s time to reinvent yourself, or maybe it’s time to follow that childhood dream of yours that you always thought about deep in your mind. Regardless, find a way and try to understand things usually work out for the best.
There’s usually a reason things happen, although hard to see through the trees when deep in the forest.
